Over the last 15 years, Asian Art Newspaper has been interviewing artists, writers, film makers and photographers. Some at the very start of their career, many in mid-career and others at the top of their craft. The article appears each month in the newspaper under profile. These interviews allowed the reader to hear the voice of the artist themselves, rather than what a critic or professional arts writer had to say about their work. Sometimes, we have interviewed artists more than once to explore how their work has evolved.  

The revolution in digital publishing has allowed us to bring this varied collection of interviews together under the name of Asian Contemporary Voices and present them, for the first time, as a group with its own unique identity within the newspaper. They are useful to the general reader, students of art history, and the curious reader, who may have missed the article in the newspaper and would like to know more about their favourite artist. We hope you enjoy reading them.
