THEMED HOLIDAYS have become the trend in recent years – spas, yoga, safaris, but I was pleased to experience India in another way – through art. We visited four cities, Mumbai, Udaipur, Jaipur and Delhi. Mumbai is a good place to start - you can gain a potted history of Indian art in this city in just one or two days. From visiting the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Vastu Sangrahalaya (formerly The Prince of Wales Museum), which houses a superb collection of miniature paintings and other art, to the growing group of art galleries selling modern and contemporary art to the domestic and international markets.
